Board Member since incorporation of DDC in 2004

Mr. Sloan grew up and received his primary education in the Tuba City area of the Navajo Nation.  Mr. Sloan graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree emphasizing business and accounting from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona.  Mr. Sloan remains active as an alumnus of NAU and donates considerable time and resources in raising funds for Native American programs at NAU.

Mr. Sloan is owner and managing partner of Sloan and Company, a regional certified public accounting firm located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Prior to forming this firm in 1980, Mr. Sloan developed a substantial degree of expertise under the employment of an international firm, KPMG Peat Marwick, where he worked for six years.  Sloan and Company specializes in business audits and governmental agency audits of Native American organizations.  Sloan and Company has operated successfully as a CPA firm for thirty years and has several clients on the Navajo Nation. 

Mr. Sloan is a licensed CPA in the states of New Mexico and Arizona.  In addition, he is a member of the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Governmental Accountants, College of Business Administration, Construction Financial Management Association and the Information System Audit and Control Association.  Mr. Sloan also serves as an advisory Board member for Nizhoni Smiles, Inc. and is a Board member of Northern Arizona University Foundation.

Mr. Sloan is married and has three grown children, some of whom are active in his business.
